Summer Beach Ball

Bright and round, this beach ball sits in the sand right at the edge of the water, its wide curved stripe panels begging for a different color each. The shapes are large and clean, which makes this one of the easiest summer pages for toddlers and preschoolers to fill without straying outside the lines. Older colorers can give each panel its own bold shade or invent a rainbow pattern that wraps around the ball. Beach balls are filled with air, not water, which is why they float so easily and bounce so high on the sand — a nice little fact to share while you color. Try leaving thin white gaps between panels so the stripes pop, or shade one side darker to make the ball look round and three-dimensional.
