Building a Snowman
Two bundled-up kids building a snowman together in the falling snow — a playful, story-filled winter coloring page.
This busy winter scene shows two bundled-up children building a snowman side by side, one rolling a big snowball while the other reaches up to press in a carrot nose. Scarves, mittens, a bucket, and a few stray twigs fill out the picture, with snow drifting down past a couple of snowy trees. There is a lot to color here, so it suits kids who enjoy a fuller page with people, props, and a wintry background to fill in. Building a snowman is one of the oldest snow-day traditions, and the more you pack and stack the snow, the longer your snowman lasts. Encourage colorists to give each child a different coat and hat so they feel like real friends, and to leave the falling flakes a soft pale blue. There is room here to invent a whole story about the snow day as you go. Print it on US Letter or A4 and bring the entire snowy afternoon to life.
Coloring Tips
- Two different kids — use separate coat and hat colors for each child so they look like distinct friends.
- Save the snowman for last — color the people and background first, then leave the snowballs white or very pale blue.
- Add falling snow — dot a few light gray or blue flecks in the open sky to match the drifting flakes.
