Stegosaurus in the Sun

The Stegosaurus is easy to spot thanks to the double row of large, diamond-shaped plates running along its arched back and the four sharp spikes on the end of its tail. This page shows it strolling happily across the grass with a small head held low and a round sun and clouds above. The big plates are perfect for a rainbow of colors or a neat repeating pattern, and the open body suits younger colorers. Stegosaurus was a gentle plant-eater, and its tail spikes — nicknamed the "thagomizer" — were its main defense. Coloring the plates one by one is a calm, satisfying activity, and the sunny background gives little ones extra areas to fill.
